... Decker, the man without qualities!

A dossier states: ... in spite of his qualifications, he (Decker) has to be considered average. Notable, though, is that a number of investigative successes entailed “disciplinary or legal inquiries.” ... In none of the cases, however, did this result in a negative evaluation of Decker’s actions:

In another place: ... he knows about his “inconspicuousness” and likes to refer to himself as “double Decker.” (Source: an internal informer)

An undercover agent who collaborated with Decker reports (report is at hand), that he (Decker) remarked at a private meeting: ... he is not so stupid as not to understand that all these “BKA activities” mainly serve the purpose of keeping the government in question in power ... he, however, could live with that, as long as he could cultivate his own garden. The precise meaning of the latter was unclear. Nothing conspicuous has been noted in terms of his personal surroundings. Colleagues and employees call Decker an “obsolete model that’s wearily going through the motions.” Nothing is known as to any personal preferences or inclinations on the part of Decker. A new evaluation of Decker is not necessary since his activities are limited now to reviewing the RAF complex and the public relations activities related to it.

Note: Decker did not show up at his farewell ceremony upon leaving active duty.
